Softball Recap: Wahoo Wins Going Away Against Duchesne/Roncalli

Wahoo never let their opponents score on Monday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Duchesne/Roncalli. For the Warriors, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win Duchesne/Roncalli walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2019.

Elsie Obert made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple and one RBI. Those two hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Karryn Eddie, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Meyer, who went 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Wahoo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Duchesne/Roncalli only posted a batting average of .143.

Wahoo is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Duchesne/Roncalli, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.

Wahoo has already played their next game (against Grand Island Central Catholic), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Duchesne/Roncalli, they have also already played their next matchup, a 7-5 defeat against Gross Catholic on the 25th.
