Softball Recap: Pierce County's Victory on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Pierce County had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Metter Tigers with a sharp 11-3 victory. Considering the Bears have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Pierce County's record now sits at 17-7. As for Metter, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pierce County will face off against Appling County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Bears 4.1, the Pirates 1.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Metter, they will take on Toombs County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
