Softball Game Preview: Bixby Spartans vs. Yukon Millers

The Bixby Spartans will challenge the Yukon Millers at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bixby took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Tuttle 4-3.

Bixby's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Teagan Standley, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That's the most RBI Standley has posted since back in August.

Meanwhile, while Yukon put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for Putnam City West. The Millers put the hurt on the Patriots with a sharp 10-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Millers, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Yukon pushed their record up to 16-9 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Bixby, their win bumped their record up to 12-14.
