Soccer Game Preview: Pacific Ridge vs. Poway

The Pacific Ridge Firebirds will venture away from home to square off against the Poway Titans at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pacific Ridge will be strutting in after a win while Poway will be coming in after a loss.

Pacific Ridge took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. They never let La Jolla Country Day onto the board and left with a 2-0 victory. Taylor Geiger had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Firebirds.

Meanwhile, Poway fell victim to Mission Hills and their airtight defense on Thursday. They fell just short of the Grizzlies by a score of 1-0. The Titans have struggled against the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Poway's defeat dropped their record down to 12-5. As for Pacific Ridge, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season.

Pacific Ridge came up short against Poway in their previous meeting back in January, falling 2-0. Can Pacific Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
