Soccer Game Preview: Waterford vs. Denair

The Waterford Wildcats will challenge the Denair Coyotes at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.

Waterford fell victim to Gustine and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Reds, falling 9-0. The Wildcats haven't had much luck with the Reds recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Meanwhile, Denair waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Their defense stepped up to hand the Grizzlies a 3-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Coyotes, who have now won eight contests by three goals or more so far this season.

Jazmin Padilla was the driving force of Denair's attack as she scored all three of Denair's goals, bringing her season total up to 38 goals.

Denair is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 38 goals over those 11 matches. As for Waterford, their loss dropped their record down to 3-18.

Waterford might still be hurting after the 6-0 defeat they got from Denair when the teams last played back in January. Can Waterford avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
