Bishop O'Dowd picks up fifth straight win at home

The Bishop O'Dowd Dragons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They strolled past Salesian College Preparatory with points to spare, taking the game 64-50. The victory was familiar territory for Bishop O'Dowd who now have four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Salesian College Preparatory lost, one person who can't be blamed is Madalyn Kanazawa. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points. Another player making a difference was Jamia Sawyer, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and two steals.

Bishop O'Dowd pushed their record up to 9-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.8 points per game. As for Salesian College Preparatory, they now have a losing record at 7-8.

Bishop O'Dowd will be playing in front of their home fans against Archbishop Mitty at 12:00 p.m. on Monday. Salesian College Preparatory will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Priory at 3:30 p.m. on January 15th.
