Soccer Game Preview: John Henry vs. Leadership Public Schools Richmond

The John Henry Wildcats will square off against the Leadership Public Schools Richmond Pumas at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

On Friday, John Henry didn't have quite enough to beat Impact Academy of Arts & Technology and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Leadership Public Schools Richmond got the win against Golden State Prep on Friday by a conclusive 6-1. Leadership Public Schools Richmond might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matches by three goals or more this season.

Their offense was hitting Golden State Prep from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Joana Villalobos led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Leadership Public Schools Richmond is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 32 goals over those six contests. As for John Henry, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

John Henry was able to grind out a solid victory over Leadership Public Schools Richmond when the teams last played back in May of 2022, winning 2-0. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Pumas have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
