Falcon has gone 8-2 against The Classical Academy recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Falcons will host the Titans at 3:30 p.m. Falcon has given up an average of 8.4 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Falcon is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Vista Ridge just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Monday. They came up short against the Wolves, falling 19-2.
Falcon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michelle Morales, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for The Classical Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against Sand Creek on Tuesday as they made off with a 13-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Titans, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Basil Murphy made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Rilee Sanson was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ashlyne Cramer, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
The Classical Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sand Creek only posted an OBP of .318.
The Classical Academy is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.6 runs over those games. As for Falcon, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-11.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Falcon has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like The Classical Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
