Soccer Recap: Walnut Takes a Loss

On Tuesday, the Walnut Mustangs didn't have quite enough to beat the Claremont Wolfpack and fell 3-2. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 78th).

Ellie Lopez wasn't going to let Claremont walk away unscathed as she scored both of Walnut's goals, bringing her season total up to nine goals.

Walnut's defeat dropped their record down to 10-7-1. As for Claremont, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2-4.

Walnut will square off against Ayala at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Claremont, they will face off against Bonita at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
