Baseball Recap: Alden Gets the Win

Alden proved they can win big on Thursday (they won by nine) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Cleveland Hill Golden Eagles. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bulldogs have posted since May 15, 2025.

Aleks Chwesik spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on one hit and racked up 14 Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Alden's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 4-2 (and 1-2 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Alden saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nick Kochmanski, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one RBI.

Alden now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Cleveland Hill, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Alden nor Cleveland Hill have any future games scheduled.
