Baseball Recap: Miller County Beats Seminole County for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Miller County barely beat Seminole County the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pirates were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Indians on Monday. The Pirates might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Andrew Keown spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Miller County let Kolby Yates and Dru Johnson run wild. Yates scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances, while Johnson scored four runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Johnson continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

The win was the fourth in a row for Miller County, bringing their record up to 17-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Seminole County, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-6.

Looking ahead, Miller County will welcome Randolph-Clay at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Seminole County, they will take on Mitchell County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
