Basketball Recap: Methacton Has No Trouble Against Springfield Township

On Saturday, everything went the Methacton Warriors's way against the Springfield Township Spartans as the Methacton Warriors made off with a 63-38 win. The Warriors have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 23 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Abby Arnold, who went 10 for 19 en route to 25 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Methacton's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jenna Kaufman, who posted six points along with 11 rebounds and four steals.

Methacton has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Springfield Township, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Methacton will head out to square off against Spring-Ford at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Spring-Ford is on a three-game streak of home wins, Methacton a three-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Springfield Township, they will venture away from home to face off against William Tennent at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
