Baseball Recap: Barnstable Red Hawks vs. Falmouth Clippers
Barnstable extended their losing streak to seven on Tuesday, dropping them down to 3-9. They fell 4-1 to the Falmouth Clippers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Clippers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-3 back in April.
As for Falmouth, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-4-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.1 runs over those games.
For Falmouth's part, Tre'Chaun Days was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed six innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. The dominant performance also gave Days a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Trey Cardoza was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Max Inman, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
As of now, neither Barnstable nor Falmouth have any future games scheduled.
