Soccer Recap: Pioneer Comes Up Short

Pioneer lost against River City back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pioneer Patriots lost 3-0 to the River City Raiders. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 331st, while the Raiders are ranked 151st).

Pioneer's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for River City, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Pioneer will be playing at home against Beyer at 6:00 p.m. on February 18th. As for River City, they are taking a road trip to square off against St. Francis at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Francis will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something River City surely won't give up without a fight.
