Softball Recap: St. James Takes a Loss

St. James had lost six straight at home dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped down to 1-5 to make it seven. They lost 29-11 to the St. Clair Bulldogs. Tigers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Bulldogs since Tuesday.

As for St. Clair, their win bumped their record up to 2-3. With that victory, they brought their scoring average up to 9.6 runs per game.

For St. Clair's part, Chloe Kelley was incredible, getting on base in five of her six plate appearances with seven RBI, four runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Mollie Hoemann, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI.

St. James didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 18-4 defeat against Pacific on the 18th. As for St. Clair, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 20-0 loss against Washington on the 17th.
