Soccer Game Preview: West Valley vs. Orland

The West Valley Eagles will head out to face off against the Orland Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

West Valley is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand Pierce a 4-0 shutout. Aubree Wertz had the honor of scoring the game-winner for the Eagles.

Meanwhile, Orland had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.7 goals) and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They blew past the Cubs 5-0. Give the Trojans' defense some credit: that's the team's fourth straight shutout.

Orland pushed their record up to 18-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those ten games. As for West Valley, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.
