Recap: Lakeland Chiefs vs. Mid Valley Spartans
The Lakeland Chiefs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a hard 52-33 fall against Mid Valley. Lakeland was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Mid Valley apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.
Mid Valley's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Elise Larson, who scored nine points along with eight assists and eight rebounds. Chiara Zavislak was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with five rebounds.
Lakeland's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Mid Valley, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeland will face off against Montrose at 6:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Mid Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Dunmore at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Dunmore presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Mid Valley in Pennsylvania (Dunmore is ranked 120th, while Mid Valley is ranked 292nd).
