Softball Recap: Smoky Hill Buffaloes vs. Doherty Spartans
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Grandview, Smoky Hill was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Doherty Spartans. The high-scoring effort was just what the Buffaloes needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Kadynce Schutt was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits. Looking ahead, Smoky Hill will venture away from home to take on Overland at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Doherty, they will welcome Pueblo West at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cyclones have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season.
