Soccer Game Preview: George Washington Prep vs. Crenshaw

The George Washington Prep Generals will venture away from home to square off against the Crenshaw Cougars at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. George Washington Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.2 goals per game this season.

George Washington Prep will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal on Monday, then bounced right back against Jordan on Wednesday. George Washington Prep blew past Jordan 5-1. The Generals found success even though the refs didn't miss a thing: Jade White and Emily Gonzalez were both handed yellow cards.

George Washington Prep hit Jordan with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Sofia Esquinxa (2), Holland Allen, Mareli Doroteo, and Yaritza Garcia.

Meanwhile, Crenshaw was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They lost 9-0 to Hawkins.

George Washington Prep is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 33 goals over those nine contests. As for Crenshaw, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-5.

George Washington Prep took their win against Crenshaw in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a conclusive 14-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for George Washington Prep since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
