Softball Recap: St. Francis Comes Up Short

St. Francis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against the Mount Vernon Mustangs, falling 9-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 4-2 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

St. Francis' defeat dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Mount Vernon, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 15-0.

St. Francis and Mount Vernon should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Knights will take on Landmark Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (136 vs. 369). Meanwhile, Mount Vernon (ranked tenth) will meet St. Pius X Catholic (ranked 146th) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
