Basketball Recap: Bangor Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Bangor had lost four straight headed into Monday's game, but Avery Nelson didn't let it get to five. The stars were shining brightly for the Bangor Slaters in a 46-32 win over the Salisbury Township Falcons on Monday thanks in part to Nelson, who went 7 of 12 on her way to 26 points along with eight boards and three steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Bangor's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Hannah Hartzell, who posted four points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Bangor's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Salisbury Township, they dropped their record down to 1-2 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Bangor will welcome Wilson Area at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Salisbury Township, they will head out to take on Northern Lehigh at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday.
