Softball Recap: Denver Comes Up Short

After flying high against Turkey Valley on Friday, Denver came back down to earth. The Cyclones fell just short of the Hudson Pirates by a score of 10-9 on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cyclones in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost nine in a row.

Denver's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Hudson, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Hudson beat Denver by a score of 2-1 later that day.
