Soccer Recap: Portales Takes a Loss

Portales faced St. Michael in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Horsemen who were credited with the victory. The St. Michael's Horsemen got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the Portales Rams' one. Portales just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Their goal came courtesy of Ethan Najera, who's now up to two this season.

Portales' defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for St. Michael's, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Portales wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 loss against Taos on the 29th. As for St. Michael's, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Bloomfield on the 29th.
