Basketball Game Preview: Summit Shasta Black Bears vs. South San Francisco Warriors

The Summit Shasta Black Bears will challenge the South San Francisco Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Summit Shasta is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.

Summit Shasta fought the good fight in their overtime game against Aptos on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Mariners by a score of 43-41.

Despite the loss, Summit Shasta got top-tier performance from Niesha Ramirez, who posted 22 points. That's the most points Ramirez has posted since back in January of 2024. Chloe Macario was another key player, putting up six points.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 66-33, which was the final score in South San Francisco's tilt against Bethel last Saturday.

Summit Shasta's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for South San Francisco, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.

Everything went Summit Shasta's way against South San Francisco in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, as Summit Shasta made off with a 66-42 win. Will Summit Shasta repeat their success, or does South San Francisco have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
