The Brookwood Warriors will face off against the Citizens Christian Academy Patriots at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
On Monday, Brookwood needed a bit of extra time to put away Georgia Christian. They came out on top against the Generals by a score of 11-6. The Warriors haven't had any issues with the Generals recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Meanwhile, Citizens Christian Academy never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on Trinity Christian with a sharp 15-0 win. Considering the Patriots have won nine contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Thomas Gentry made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Gentry was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Gray McLean, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three RBI. He has become a key player for Citizens Christian Academy: the team is 8-0-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 6-7-1 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Williams, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Citizens Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .615. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Citizens Christian Academy has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Brookwood, their win bumped their record up to 9-16.
