Baseball Recap: Forest Park Comes Up Short

Forest Park fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against M.L. King on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 8-4 to the Lions. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lions earlier this season, when they won 10-7.

Nate Edmunds made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-4. He has become a key player for Forest Park: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 7-9 otherwise.

Forest Park has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. As for M.L. King, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 12-10.

Forest Park will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Salem at 5:55 p.m. on the 14th. M.L. King does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
