Football Recap: Northfield Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Northfield unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They fell 21-9 to the Waconia Wildcats on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Wildcats are ranked 35th).

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northfield will take on Faribault at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Waconia, they will face off against Apple Valley at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
