Coastal Academy extended their winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Payton Kloeppel. The Coastal Academy Stingrays escaped with a win on Friday against the Mountain Empire Redhawks by the margin of a single free throw, 22-21 thanks in part to Kloeppel, who posted six points in addition to seven boards and six steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last three games she's played.

Carli McGhee and Bibi Caceres certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. McGhee earned ten points, while Caceres scored nine points.

Coastal Academy pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.7 points per game. As for Mountain Empire, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Coastal Academy will take on Guajome Park Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mountain Empire, they will challenge San Diego Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Mountain Empire's defense has only allowed 18.9 points per game this season, so San Diego Academy's offense will have their work cut out for them.
