Soccer Game Preview: Garces Memorial vs. Centennial

The Garces Memorial Rams will square off against the Centennial Golden Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Garces Memorial is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Centennial better have a healthy lead at halftime, because if last week is any indication, that's when Garces Memorial really get things going. Garces Memorial's defense stepped up to hand Bakersfield Christian a 3-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Rams' defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five matches.

They hit Bakersfield Christian with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Avory Henry, Cianna Antongiovanni, and Makenzie Walker.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Centennial, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They won by a goal and slipped past Frontier 1-0. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but the Golden Hawks were the better team in the second half.

Garces Memorial's victory bumped their record up to 10-0-1. As for Centennial, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-7 record this season.
