Aquinas is 9-1 against Polk County since September of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Monarchs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Slammers at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Aquinas' tournament run continued when they took on St. Paul on Saturday. The Monarchs skirted past the Wildcats 13-12.

Aquinas got a massive performance out of Ainsley Wollmer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those three runs gave Wollmer a new career-high. Jordyn Vandenberg was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Aquinas kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Polk County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 21-12 to Ord.
Mady Berggren stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Another player making a difference was Chloe Schott, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Aquinas pushed their record up to 11-13 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Polk County, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-19.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Aquinas hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Polk County struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Everything went Aquinas' way against Polk County in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, as Aquinas made off with a 14-3 victory. Do the Monarchs have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Slammers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
