Volleyball Recap: Old Lyme Comes Up Short

Old Lyme lost against North Branford on September 2nd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wildcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Thunderbirds.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-17, 12-25, 25-23.

Maya LeQuire paced Old Lyme's offense, picking up 15 kills. LeQuire got some help from Kaylyn Vernon and her 16 assists. LeQuire was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Old Lyme now has a losing record of 5-6. As for North Branford, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

Old Lyme wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 win against Portland on the 29th. As for North Branford, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Valley Regional on the 29th.
