Volleyball Recap: Old Lyme Takes a Loss

Old Lyme lost against North Branford on September 2nd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Wildcats fell 3-1 to the Thunderbirds.

The final score came out to 25-19, 25-17, 12-25, 25-23.

Maya LeQuire paced Old Lyme's offense, picking up 15 kills. LeQuire got some help from Kaylyn Vernon and her 16 assists. LeQuire was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Old Lyme now has a losing record of 5-6. As for North Branford, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Old Lyme is set to square off against their familiar foe Portland at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, North Branford will face off against rival Valley Regional at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
