Soccer Recap: Model Comes Up Short

Model entered their match against Rome on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Model Blue Devils took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rome Wolves. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Devils of the 1-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in February of 2021.

This is the second loss in a row for Model and nudges their season record down to 5-2. As for Rome, they pushed their record up to 3-2 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Looking ahead, Model will face off against Fannin County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rome, they will look to defend their home pitch on Friday against Coosa at 8:00 p.m. Coosa will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more goals each game than the last.
