Softball Recap: Jackson County Panthers vs. Loganville Red Devils
After flying high against Clarke Central on Monday, Jackson County came back down to earth. The Panthers came up short against the Loganville Red Devils on Tuesday, falling 17-9. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Devils apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.
Emery Schiffmann made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. PJ Walker also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.
Jackson County's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-2. As for Loganville, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Jackson County and Loganville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Panthers (ranked 48th) will meet Apalachee (ranked 221st) at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Loganville will face off against Clarke Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank advantage (6 vs. 174).
