Softball Recap: Northridge's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

There's no place like home for Northridge, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Mountain View Mountain Lions on Saturday as they made off with a 15-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Grizzlies, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Northridge let Bo Tellez and Naomi Propes run wild. Tellez went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Propes went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits Propes has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Tori Peterson, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Northridge always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory snapped Northridge's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 9-7 record. As for Mountain View, their loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-15-1.

Looking ahead, Northridge will venture away from home to square off against Berthoud at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Grizzlies' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Spartans have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season. As for Mountain View, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Skyline at 4:00 p.m. The Falcons have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.57 runs per game on average), something the Mountain Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
