Baseball Game Preview: Lakeside Vikings vs. Dunwoody Wildcats

Lakeside is 1-9 against Dunwoody since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Lakeside Vikings will be playing at home against the Dunwoody Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Lakeside 4.1, Dunwoody 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

On Wednesday, Lakeside didn't have quite enough to beat Dunwoody and fell 3-2. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Aidan Conrad was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Jihad Guy made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Micah Von was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

The victory was the 16th in a row for Dunwoody, bringing their record for this year to 16-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.9 runs on average over those games. As for Lakeside, their loss dropped their record down to 10-5.
