Basketball Recap: Sunny Hills Lancers vs. Esperanza Aztecs
Sunny Hills was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 48-36 to the Esperanza Aztecs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Aztecs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-29 back in January.
It was another big night for Charlotte Muller, who posted 15 points and eight boards for Esperanza. That's the most rebounds Muller has posted since back in December of 2024. Lacie Miyatake was another key player, putting up five points in addition to five boards and five steals.
Sunny Hills' loss dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Esperanza, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season.
Sunny Hills does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Esperanza, they will head out on the road to face off against Westlake at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Esperanza is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57 points per game this season.
