Football Recap: Uniondale Comes Up Short

If Uniondale was feeling good fresh off their 38-14 takedown of Hicksville last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Knights had to suffer through a 46-7 loss at the hands of Herricks/Wheatley. The Knights were already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.

Uniondale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Herricks/Wheatley, the victory snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 2-4 record.

Looking ahead, Uniondale will square off against Freeport on Saturday. The Knights will be up against the Red Devils' rather soft defense (which has allowed 36.33 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Herricks/Wheatley, they will be playing at home against Massapequa at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Chiefs' defense has only allowed 9.3 points per game this season, so Herricks/Wheatley's offense will have their work cut out for them.
