Holtville picks up third straight win on the road

Recap: Holtville vs. Palo Verde Valley

The Holtville Vikings entered their tilt with the Palo Verde Valley Yellow Jackets with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. Holtville had just enough and edged Palo Verde Valley out 2-1. Kate Grizzle had to tread lightly for part of the match after she was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble Holtville got from the refs.

Holtville pushed their record up to 11-10-2 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 27 goals over those three matches. As for Palo Verde Valley, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-11-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Holtville will challenge Julian at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Holtville is facing Julian at the right time seeing as Julian is stuck on a eight-game losing streak. As for Palo Verde Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against West Shores at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday.
