Football Recap: Ben Halevi's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Milton over Jackson County + How To Watch

Milton and Jackson County squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Milton had to settle for second. They took a 24-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. While the Eagles had to settle for second, they closed the game well in the third quarter, where they outscored the Panthers 12-7.

Milton's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ben Halevi, who threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns. The Eagles also got a significant boost from Bentley Hickman, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 117 yards.

Daylan Maxwell produced another solid effort rushing for 193 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 7.7 yards per carry, and also picking up 36 receiving yards for Jackson County. Maxwell is also on a roll when it comes to rushing touchdowns, as he's now punched in two or more in each of the last nine games he's played.

Milton's loss dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Jackson County, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Milton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Jackson County, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 31-17 defeat against Rome on the 28th.
