Soccer Game Preview: Southwest SD vs. Montgomery

The Southwest SD Raiders will challenge the Montgomery Aztecs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Southwest SD is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Chula Vista Learning Community Charter on Monday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Montgomery, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-2 win over Chula Vista on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Aztecs needed considering they were shutout in their previous match.

Montgomery's victory bumped their record up to 11-7-1. With that draw, Southwest SD's record moves to 8-8-1.

Southwest SD came out on top in a nail-biter against Montgomery in their previous meeting two weeks ago, sneaking past 3-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Southwest SD since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
