Basketball Game Preview: Calvary Chapel Eagles vs. Segerstrom Jaguars

The Calvary Chapel Eagles just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Segerstrom Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Calvary Chapel is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Thursday, Calvary Chapel had to suffer through a 89-43 loss at the hands of St. Margaret's. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 804th, while the Tartans are ranked 87th).

Meanwhile, after a string of six wins, Segerstrom's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. The game between them and Ontario didn't end well, with Segerstrom falling 46-32. The matchup marked Segerstrom's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Calvary Chapel will need focus on slowing down April Valenciano, one of several Segerstrom players who made an impact when they last played. She posted seven points and five steals. Valenciano is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kamila Floris, who earned six points along with six rebounds and four blocks.

Calvary Chapel's record now sits at 6-13. As for Segerstrom, their record is now 14-4.
