Softball Recap: St. Michael the Archangel Has No Trouble Against North Kansas City

St. Michael the Archangel had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the North Kansas City Hornets with a sharp 19-0 win on Friday.

Sophie Young was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. Those 12 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, St. Michael the Archangel got a massive performance out of Meredith Falk, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Lyla Ventimiglia was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.

St. Michael the Archangel wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 20-3 victory against Lincoln College Prep on the 29th. As for North Kansas City, they have also already played their next match, a 10-0 loss against Raytown on the 2nd.
