After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Angleton, Ball was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They came out on top against the Iowa Colony Pioneers by a score of 3-1. The Tornadoes have beaten the Pioneers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Pioneers has come to flipping the script.

Ball had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-19, 25-15, 25-15.

Ball can attribute much of their success to Reine Madsen, who had eight digs and one assist.

Ball was lethal from the service line and finished the game with ten aces. They are 4-2 when they serve at least ten aces.

Ball's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 13-13. As for Iowa Colony, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-14.

Ball has already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against La Porte on the 16th. As for Iowa Colony, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-1 loss against Santa Fe on the 16th.
