Basketball Recap: Maya Wollitz's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ukiah over Saint Mary's

It was a proper cat-fight when Ukiah faced off against Saint Mary on Friday. The Wildcats fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 47-44. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ukiah lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Maya Wollitz, who posted 12 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Dana Cabada, who put up eight points in addition to ten rebounds and seven steals.

Ukiah's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Saint Mary's, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Ukiah didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 71-13 win against South Fork on the 6th. As for Saint Mary's, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Lincoln at 6:00 p.m. on the 18th.
