Volleyball Game Preview: Naperville Central Redhawks vs. Metea Valley Mustangs

Naperville Central is 0-10 against Metea Valley since October of 2021 but things could change on Thursday. The Redhawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 5:30 p.m. Metea Valley took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Naperville Central, who comes in off a win.

Naperville Central got their first taste of in-conference action on Tuesday and they started things off strong. They came out on top against DeKalb by a score of 2-0. The win continues a trend for the Redhawks in their matchups with the Barbs: they've now won eight in a row.

The final score came out to 25-20, 25-16.

Meanwhile, Metea Valley came up short against Downers Grove North on Wednesday and fell 2-0.

While Metea Valley ultimately came up short, they really made Downers Grove North work, particularly in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 26-24.

Naperville Central now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Metea Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-12.

Naperville Central couldn't quite get it done against Metea Valley in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Redhawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
