Timmy Laubenshimer put in work while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Madison Plains is 6-3 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 4-8 otherwise. Laubenshimer was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Carter Pollock made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Madison Plains' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 3-1 (and 7-10 when he doesn't).
Meanwhile, Southeastern Local was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. Southeastern Local's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Wednesday. Madison Plains has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Southeastern Local, though, as they've been averaging only 3.2 strikeouts. Will Madison Plains keep running through batters, or will the Trojans buck the trend?
