After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Elm Creek, Lawrence-Nelson was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They put the hurt on the McCool Junction Mustangs with a sharp 3-0 win. That three set margin sets a new team best for the Raiders this season.

Lawrence-Nelson never let McCool Junction on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 28-26, 25-20.

Codi Cannaday paced Lawrence-Nelson's offense, picking up ten kills. Cannaday got some help from Maddy Laughlin and her 11 assists. Cannaday was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Lawrence-Nelson's victory ended a four-match drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14. As for McCool Junction, they are on a 31-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-16.

Looking ahead, Lawrence-Nelson will head out on the road to square off against Nebraska Lutheran on Tuesday. As for McCool Junction, they will take on Franklin at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
