El Cerrito is 9-0-1 against Richmond since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Gauchos will venture away from home to square off against the Oilers at 6:00 p.m.

El Cerrito is headed into Thursday's matchup hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight defeats. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of Pinole Valley. That's two games in a row now that El Cerrito have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Richmond's game on Wednesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. Their defense stepped up to hand Jesse M. Bethel a 2-0 shutout. Richmond haven't had any issues with Jesse M. Bethel recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.

El Cerrito's loss dropped their record down to 7-3-1. As for Richmond, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7-1.

El Cerrito got the 'W' in their previous matchup back in December of 2025 against Richmond by a conclusive 5-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Gauchos since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
