Recap: El Camino Eagles vs. Christian Brothers Falcons
The El Camino Eagles struggled with offensive rebounds on Wednesday (the Christian Brothers Falcons had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. El Camino was beaten by Christian Brothers 57-29. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for El Camino in their matchups with Christian Brothers: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite the loss, El Camino still got an impressive performance from Noelle Potratz, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds. Potratz is crushing the block category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiena Thomas, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
Christian Brothers found their leader in underclassman Joy Omishakin, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals. Another player making a difference was Aleyah Harmon, who scored nine points along with seven assists and four steals.
El Camino's loss dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Christian Brothers, they are on a roll lately: they've won 16 of their last 18 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.
El Camino will be playing at home against Sacramento at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in California (El Camino is ranked 562nd, while Sacramento is ranked 569th). As for Christian Brothers, they will be playing at home against Merced at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Merced is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
